Towards Bad Neustadt

The route to Bad Neustadt is ideal for relaxed rides with little elevation gain. It mainly leads through open landscapes, small villages and quiet paths.

Perfect for a half-day trip with places to stop along the way. In Bad Neustadt itself, cafés and the historic old town invite you to take a break.

Distance: approx. 25–35 km

Elevation: low (approx. 150–300 m)

Difficulty: easy

Towards Bamberg

More ambitious riders can choose the longer tour towards Bamberg. The route combines rural sections with varied terrain and some climbs.

Bamberg itself is a worthwhile destination with a historic old town (UNESCO World Heritage). Perfect as a day trip or with a return by train.

Distance: approx. 70–100 km

Elevation: medium (approx. 600–1200 m)

Difficulty: medium to challenging

Tip: return by train possible

Rennsteig & Thuringian Forest

The Rennsteig is the most famous route in the region and offers impressive nature. Expect forest trails, fresh air and beautiful views.

Depending on the starting point, both sporty tours and relaxed sections are possible. Especially recommended for those looking for nature and tranquility.

Elevation: high (500–1500 m)

Difficulty: medium to challenging

Surface: partly gravel/forest paths
